DONATIONS FOR REUSE
Donations of sewing and needlecraft materials help keep SewGreen going. We sort and select the items for reuse and resale at very affordable prices. Some materials are donated to other charitable organizations for reuse projects and activities. We strive to find a reuse destination for every item.

Items we can accept include:
* Clean, folded fabric in usable condition (no mildew, no odor, fibers still strong), all sizes from quilting scraps to bolts;
* Yarn, knitting needles, crochet hooks, and other needlecraft tools;
* Thread, sewing notions and equipment;
* Buttons, hooks, snaps, zippers;
* Needlecraft kits and materials;
* Books on sewing and any fiber or fashion art;
* Patterns (must be complete and usable);
* Sewing machines of any vintage, that hopefully still have all their parts. Accessories and manuals are a huge plus.

DROP-OFFS
You may take donations that are easily carried to Tuff Soul, where SewGreen has a program space, during the store's business hours, 11 am - 7 pm, Tuesday through Sunday. Tuff Soul is located at 516 West State Street, Ithaca, in the block of State between Corn and Route 13. If materials are bulky or heavy or you have a large quantity to donate, please contact the SewGreen Coordinator for other arrangements. Pick-ups in Ithaca and surrounding towns are available if you can't come to us.

NOTE: At this time, we do not have the capacity to accept worn-out clothing from which usable fabric could be reclaimed. Wearable clothing can be donated to charities that run thrift stores, such as the Salvation Army; sold or donated to second-hand clothing stores; or sold at consignment shops. Many recycling programs accept worn-out clothing and fabric scraps. Tompkins County's Recycling Center accepts clothing for recycling and reuse. It must be folded and put in clear plastic bags. For more information, visit the RecycleTompkins website: www.recycletompkins.org

SewGreen needs funding!

SewGreen will be seeking grants this year to support and increase its programming. In the meantime, we are depending on revenue from reuse sales and some bridge funding from a local source. Quite frankly, it isn't enough. Your support will significantly increase our ability to serve the community.

Please make checks out to our not-for-profit umbrella, Social Ventures, Inc., with "SewGreen" in the memo line. You may mail your donation to:
