Lamoreaux Landing Rieslings Capture Gold Yet Again

(Lodi, NY) – Lamoreaux Landing Wine Cellars located on the eastern shore of Seneca Lake in Lodi, NY is extremely honored to accept another gold medal for their 2006 Semi-Dry Riesling and the “Best of Class” distinction for their 2006 Riesling Ice from the 2007 Long Beach Grand Cru International Wine Competition that was held in Long Beach, California on July 21-22nd.   Both of these wines are 100% estate grown and bottled.

The Competition is held approximately four weeks prior to the awards and the major public tasting event, which attracts more than 1,200 wine and food aficionados every August. The Long Beach Grand Cru has received accolades as the "up-and-coming" competition of the millennium and since its inception in 1995, the Competition has grown in size and prestige, attracting wineries from across the United States and from around the world. The Long Beach Grand Cru is an international wine competition and culinary experience created and hosted by the Long Beach office of the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA) to raise funds in support of programs and services for low-income citizens who meet Federal poverty guidelines.

The 2006 Semi-Dry Riesling is described as being nicely structured with classic Lamoreaux Landing Riesling aromas of peaches, apricots, and pineapple.  A rich and weighty palate complements refined fruit sweetness and pink grapefruit acidity with real persistence.  Perfectly balanced, the semi-dry is delightful on its own and very food friendly.  Enjoy it with salty foods, especially cheeses, food with some sweetness- fruit for example, or an apricot and prune stuffed pork roast, or spicy dishes such as green chicken curry or Szechuan-style shrimp.

The Lamoreaux Landing 2006 Riesling Ice is an exotic, ultra ripe wine with concentrated aromas and flavors of apricot, spiced apple, golden raisins, and honey. Well-balanced, rich, and luscious on the palate with a crisp, clean finish, please serve it chilled as a dessert in itself, with sweet food, or alongside a fruit and cheese course.

With numerous national and international competitive awards to its credit, Lamoreaux Landing Wine Cellars has consistently been growing and producing award-winning vinifera wines since 1990 from vineyards on the Eastern hillsides of Seneca Lake.
