Lamoreaux Landing Wine Cellars located on the eastern shore of Seneca Lake in Lodi, NY is extremely proud to bring home a gold medal for their 2006 Dry Riesling from the 2007 San Francisco International Wine Competition that was held at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco June 15 -17th.
Being the largest and most prestigious wine competition in America, the San Francisco International Wine Competition consists of a judging panel of top wine industry professionals and internationally recognized journalists and writers. The competition is held annually in June and attracts more than 3500 entries.
Riesling is often referred to as the "signature" grape and wine of the Finger Lakes region because of the versatile range of wine styles it can produce, and the delicious food pairings that are enhanced with a glass of this wine.
The 2006 Dry Riesling from Lamoreaux Landing Wine Cellars is 100% Estate Grown. The wine is described as having enticing aromas such as pineapple, sweet lime, and fresh-cut melon on the nose that are followed by similar tropical flavors on the mouth. Tank aging on the yeast lees gives this wine a rich and round presence despite a crisp structure and dry finish. The well-balanced acidity makes this an extremely food-friendly white wine pairing well with white meats, fish and cheeses while tempering salty, spicy or rich foods.
