Payment & Cancellation Policies

To us, a reservation is a promise -- we promise that your reservation will be honored.  We do not overbook.  We guarantee that the seats you reserve will be available to you on your tour.  We will not sell them to someone else under any circumstances, as long as you hold your reservation.  For this reason, we may have to turn away guests, and potential revenue, if we cannot fit them on the particular tour on which you've reserved space.  Once we accept a reservation, therefore, we must enforce the following policies:

1. Reservations

When we take a reservation, we normally ask for a credit card.  We immediately "verify" that the card can support the cost of the tour, but we don't actually charge anything to the card at this time.  This ensures the validity of the card and temporarily "reserving" enough of the card's credit limit to pay for the tour.  In other words, the card's credit limit is temporarily reduced by the cost of the tour, as if the tour were being charged to the card.  The reserve is released when we convert the verification to an actual charge on the day of the tour, or after a couple of weeks, whichever happens first.  The length of time it takes for an unconverted reservation to expire, and to add the reserved amount back into the credit limit, differs with each card and is up to the issuing bank.

2. Cancellations

For parties of five (5) or fewer guests:
  • You may cancel without penalty up to, but not including, seven (7) days before the day of the tour.
  • If you cancel between seven (7) days and two (2) days, inclusive, before the day of the tour, your card will be charged for the full amount of the tour, and we will issue you a credit for half (50%) of the value of the tour which may be a applied to any of our tours in the future.
  • If you cancel within one (1) day of the tour, your card will be charged for the full amount (100%) of the cost of the tour.  No refund or credit will be issued.

For parties of six (6) or more guests:

  • You may cancel without penalty up to, but not including, thirty (30) days before the day of the tour.
  • If you cancel between seven (30) days and two (2) days, inclusive, before the day of the tour, your card will be charged for half (50%) of the cost of the tour.  No refund or credit will be issued.
  • If you cancel within one (1) day of the tour, your card will be charged for the full amount (100%) of the cost of the tour.  No refund or credit will be issued.

If you are not present at the appointed time and place of the start of the tour, your   reservation is deemed cancelled.  We will wait up to ten (10) minutes for late parties, unless otherwise specified. If you are running late, please give us a call so we know you are on your way, and so we can make arrangements, if possible.

With respect to this Cancellation Policy, a day refers to a calendar day, not a 24-hour period.  For example, if your tour starts on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., any time on the Friday before the tour is considered to be within one day.
